An announcement from the board

It is with sadness that the board announces that Graham Rogers has stepped down from his position as Musical Director of newLOG. We are all deeply grateful for Graham’s splendid work on the musical side of our performances during the first ten years of newLOG – the high standard he has set has come to define the company.

We are delighted to announce that Alex Carpenter, who was appointed to the newLOG board as Co-Musical Director before Christmas, has accepted the position of Company Musical Director. Alex has impressed the company greatly with his musical direction of the newLOG 10th Anniversary gala performances of The Contrabandista and Trial by Jury, and last summer’s production of The Grand Duke. Alex is already scheduled to conduct The Pirates of Penzance in Louth this summer, and he will now also MD our performance of Utopia Limited in Harrogate this August. It is wonderful that Alex is keen to become involved in the running of newLOG and we are sure that you will share in congratulating Alex and thanking Graham.

Graham has accepted the honorary position of Conductor Laureate, in recognition of his invaluable contribution to the musical life of newLOG and his pivotal role in setting up the company’s relationship with the International G&S Festival, where he won the Sullivan Cup for our production of The Sorcerer in 2013. We look forward to seeing Graham in future newLOG events and productions.

Best wishes,

Chris, Fay, Alex, Steve and Tony
