Our upcoming concert – A Dinner Engagement and Songs of Gilbert and Sullivan – is selling like hotcakes! It’s one night only (23 Feb) so book soon to avoid disappointment!

A Dinner Engagement is an operatic farce in one act, about the impoverished Earl and Countess of Dunmow who have to impress the fearsome Grand Duchess of Monte Blanco with a sumptuous dinner. The only trouble is, they’ve had to lay off all their domestic staff (except their char-lady, Mrs Kneebone, who is, shall we say, somewhat eccentric) in order to find a good match for their daughter, Susan, and they have no idea how to cook. At all. Needless to say, hilarity ensues.

The evening will be complemented with Songs of Gilbert and Sullivan, a showcase of some of the very best G&S collaborations, and will feature a preview of the music from this summer’s new production of The Mikado, coming to the Louth Riverhead Theatre from 27-29 June.
