Hugh the Drover

A tale of love, suspicion and fisticuffs in the English countryside.
Largely composed in the final peaceful years before the First World War, Hugh the Drover uses the composer’s characteristic blending of traditional and invented folk songs into the score, which is brimful of melodic charm. The opera has a large number of principal parts as well as a number of small roles and cameos that will give opportunities for many soloists to take a role.

Please note that the New London Opera Group is a not-for-profit amateur theatre company. A show fee is payable by all cast members to help cover production costs. Accommodation and travel costs are to be borne by participants.
